Waking Up

Waking Up

The darkness crept slowly, its lullaby the night’s song, seducing me to slumber where I’d lain for too long. ‘til suddenly the night faded, forcing open my eyes to blonde streaks of light stretching across azure skies

Gathering on a mountain I once sought to climb their radiating warmth helped my old self to find the joy from ambition, the dream to fly with birds, the hope to walk among the stars, the power behind kind words

And so I set out to renew a wandering soul now found, whose heart resides among the clouds, but whose feet hold to the ground; each step it takes guides upward, each stumble a lesson earned ‘til the day it finally embraces that for which it always yearned.
